Yahoo Insights: Measure Your Email Delivery Performance with Ease

Yahoo Insights

Along with enforcing their sender requirements, inbox providers continue improving the client experience by offering new tools at their disposal. Senders can already get valuable domain metrics in Google Postmaster and verify email traffic coming from their dedicated IP in a Microsoft Smart Network Data Services report. And recently, at the end of October 2025, Yahoo introduced a new portal for email senders – Insights.

What is Yahoo Insights?

Insights is a brand-new tool in the Yahoo Sender Hub that gives email senders more visibility into the performance of their emails with the Yahoo provider. The information is presented in an aggregate manner and gives a clear picture of email delivery for your DKIM-verified domains across the domains registered with Yahoo Mail.

Currently, the Insights dashboard has two metrics:

  • Spam Complaint Rate
  • Delivered

Spam Complaint Rate

The report will show the percentage of emails reported as spam during the chosen period, for instance, the last seven days. It is to note that Yahoo will only look at the messages delivered in the Inbox to calculate the spam complaint rate. The messages landed in Spam or filtered out other ways will be ignored. This approach may return the rate different from what you can see in your email service provider if they count all emails regardless of the placement.

Additionally, Yahoo will show the difference in the spam complaint rate received for the chosen period compared to the previous period – this allows senders to quickly spot an increase in this metric in order to take measures.

To make it more informative for users, the graphic has two thresholds for the spam complaint rate: 0,1% and 0,3%. If you are below 0,1%, you are good. If your rate is close to 0,3%, it’s time to address this to avoid email blocks by Yahoo.

Delivered

This report will show the number of messages delivered to the Yahoo-managed email accounts during the chosen period. Similarly to Spam Complaint Rate, Yahoo will show the difference compared to the previous period.

Getting Started with Insights

To get into Insights:

  1. Log in to your Yahoo Sender Hub account (or create one).
  2. Click on “Dashboard” in the main navigation.
  3. Click a drop-down menu to select a DKIM-verified domain. Or add and verify a domain you want to get statistics for.
  4. Click “Activate” to enable access to the Insights reports.

Additional Notes

It is recommended to keep these things in mind in order to take advantage of the new tool:

  • Each Sender Hub account will show the statistics only for the domains verified within that account;
  • The statistics will be available only for DKIM verified domains;
  • The statistics will be available if a domain meets the minimum daily threshold (no exact number is specified, however);
  • The statistics will start populating within 24-48 hours after the Insights activation if a domain meets the above requirements.

Conclusion

Yahoo Insights seems to be a good tool providing useful data for email senders. While it’s limited to two metrics now, we hope it will be enhanced in the future making it even more valuable. It’s highly recommended that senders whose email lists contain a lot of Yahoo-managed domains use Insights to control their delivery performance and spam rate as they have an impact on the overall domain reputation.
