Free BIMI Checker: Add Your Brand Logo to Every Email
BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) is a standard that allows your brand's logo to appear in every email, preventing domain spoofing and improving deliverability.
Use our free BIMI Checker tool for an instant diagnostic lookup to verify and validate your brand logo's implementation on the queried domain. The tool checks if your BIMI setup is properly configured, meets all requirements, and how your logo appears across different devices.

How Does BIMI Work?
Here are three simple steps that show how BIMI works:
- After you send an email, the DNS record points the mail client to your company’s logo (SVG file) publicly hosted on a web server.
- When the email is delivered, the receiver’s system looks up the BIMI DNS entry to ensure that the message can be verified.
- Once verified, the BIMI record tells the email receiver where to find the sender’s logo to be displayed next to the sender’s credentials in the inbox.
How to Implement the BIMI Standard?
There are a few key things to keep in mind when deploying BIMI email authentication for your brand:
- You must set up SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication records for your domain.
- Set the DMARC policy to “quarantine” or “reject”. A “none” policy does not qualify for BIMI.
- Get access to your domain name servers to set up a new BIMI DNS entry.
- Create an SVG file of your logo that complies with BIMI requirements and host it at a publicly accessible HTTPS URL. If the referenced SVG file is in a GZIP-compressed form (SVGZ file), use the “svgz” extension.
- Get a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) or a Common Mark Certificate (CMC) for your BIMI assertion TXT record.

Required Certificates for BIMI: Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) and Common Mark Certificate (CMC)
A Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) is a digital certificate that validates the authenticity of a logo associated with the sender’s domain and is required for most email clients.
VMC Key Features:
- Validate your organization and associate it with your official logo.
- Stop phishers and spammers from showing well-known logos next to their emails.
- Prohibit misuse of the company’s logo.
VMCs are issued by trusted Certificate Authorities (CAs) after thorough verification of your organization.
Gmail now supports Common Mark Certificates (CMCs), a new type of BIMI certificate designed for organizations without registered trademarks.
CMC Key Features:
- Allows brands without a registered trademark to display a logo in Gmail.
- The logo appears next to emails in Gmail but without the Gmail-verified checkmark.
- CMCs are more affordable than VMCs due to the less stringent validation requirements.
CMCs make BIMI accessible to a broader range of senders, but they are currently supported only by Gmail. If you want to maximize your BIMI logo visibility across multiple email clients a VMC is still the recommended option.
