To configure DKIM settings, you need to be able to login as administrator in your Google Workspace account.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Domain DNS access<\/strong>. You\u2019ll need to publish TXT records for DKIM in your domain\u2019s DNS management panel, so having access to it is necessary.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Domain ownership<\/strong>. You\u2019ll need to ensure that the domain you are setting up DKIM for is yours. The authenticity of the emails you will be sending from the domain depends on this.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Domain configuration<\/strong>. Your domain must be set up correctly and must be operational in your Google Workspace account.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Setup DKIM in Google Workspace<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to sign outbound emails by your custom domain and pass DKIM alignment, follow this detailed guide to enable DKIM in Google Workspace:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 1: Create a DKIM Key.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Login as administrator in your Google Workspace <a href=\"https:\/\/admin.google.com\/\">Admin console<\/a> and navigate to Menu &gt; Apps &gt; Google Workspace &gt; Gmail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click \u201cAuthenticate email.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Select the domain, for which you want to configure DKIM signing, in the \u201cSelected domain\u201d menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click \u201cGenerate New Record\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the \u201cGenerate new record\u201d box, select your DKIM key settings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2048 &#8211; if your domain provider supports 2048-bit keys, select this option. Longer keys are more secure than shorter keys.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1024 &#8211; if your domain host doesn&#8217;t support 2048-bit keys, select this option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose the prefix selector. The default prefix selector is <em>google<\/em>. If your domain already uses a DKIM record with the \u2018google\u2019 prefix, enter a different prefix in this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, click \u201cGenerate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The message \u201cDKIM authentication settings updated\u201d will appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Copy the values in the \u201cAuthenticate email\u201d window and update the DNS records for this domain.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 2: Add DKIM Key to DNS.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Login to your hosting provider\u2019s account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Select the domain and go to the settings where you update TXT records for your domain. Typically it\u2019s called \u201cDNS settings\u201d, \u201cDNS management\u201d or something similar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click on the \u201cAdd record\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add the TXT record with this information:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Type: TXT<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Host (Hostname, Alias): the domain name. If the Host is the same domain (not subdomain) you are adding the TXT record to, enter the @ symbol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Value: the generated DKIM key<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Save the changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are setting up DKIM for a subdomain, refer to your domain provider\u2019s documentation to properly add a DKIM TXT record for the subdomain.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are setting up DKIM for more than one domain, get a unique DKIM key from the Google Workspace Admin Console for each domain and complete these steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After adding a DKIM TXT record, it can take up to 48 hours for DKIM authentication to start working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 3: Turn on DKIM Signing in Google Workspace.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Now you need to turn on DKIM signing for outbound emails in your Google Admin console.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Admin console, navigate to Menu &gt; Apps &gt; Google Workspace &gt; Gmail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click \u201cAuthenticate email\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Select the domain, for which you added a DKIM key.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click \u201cStart authentication.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the DKIM setup is done correctly, the status at the top of the page changes to: <em>Authenticating email with DKIM.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The utilization of DKIM email authentication helps both senders and receivers.
